“I don’t know which artiste did better than me last year. Although it was a dancehall season last year, I stood out as the only hip life artiste who came out with four hit singles,” he said.
According to Guru, who has been nominated in the categories of Artiste of the Year, Hip life Song of the Year, Hip life Artiste of the Year, Best Collaboration, Vodafone Song of the year, Hiplife/Hip-hop Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year and Producer of the Year.
His famous ‘Boys Abre’ (Alkayida) song was adjudged the most popular hip life song last year.
“I want any artiste to challenge me on what I am saying. The likes of Kwabena Kwabena, Shatta Wale, Bisa Kdei and Castro did their own but when it comes to the hip life terrain I was the best artiste last year,” he boasted.
Guru, who is staging a Charity Concert to help raise funds for the school of deaf and blind at Tema SOS, said he would be very disappointed if he did not win at least five of the awards he has been nominated for.
“I am not blowing my own horns but honour has to be given to who it’s due and I believe I deserve it. I am currently putting together three hot singles which will blow the minds of Ghanaians when they’re out,” he said.
Currently under management of Empire Entertainment Guru noted that Ghanaians should rally behind him by supporting his music.
