Comic actor Bismark The Joke has narrated a daunting experience he had to put up with while shooting his upcoming comedy titled Bismark The Joke in the UK, revealing that he received slaps on the movie’s set.

According to Bismark, an actress he acted with in one of the movie’s scenes gave him real slaps under the guise of acting.

He said he lost his composure in the process and almost replied but he had to let go and complete the scene.

He told NEWS-ONE over the weekend that he would have been hurt if producers of the movie had decided to omit that scene from the final edit of the new movie which will premiere on March 12 at the Silverbird Cinemas.

“It was a serious slap she gave me, so my shouting in the movie wasn’t acting. I shouted because the slap really hurt me. But it made the scene look nice and I didn’t have to spoil it so I acted through it,” he added.

All roads lead to the Silverbird Cinemas at the West Hills Mall at Weija on March 12, 2016 where the movie will be premiered.

Directed by Abbeam Danso, Bismark the Joke is centred on the life of the hilarious character of Bismark as he embarks on various escapades in London. Based on the upbringings and different cultures of individuals, friendship is created and sometimes goes wrong knowingly or unknowingly. In this movie, fans get to enjoy and see the differences and what they are through comedy.

It also stars Septimus Anthony, Richard Banks, Steven Bartle, Angelique Dos Santos, Lee Nicholas Harris, Luke White, Sharune, Chris Martin Hill, Gintaras Lazickas and Bismark The Joke, born Bismark Nii Odoi.

Bismark hopes a lot of his fan base will patronise the movie.

A 28-year-old man identified only as Moses is in the grips of the Sogakope police for allegedly raping a 104-year-old grandmother at Dedenu near Yorkitikpo in the South Tongu district in the Volta region on Saturday.

The sexual assault took place while the old woman slept.

The suspect was arrested by villagers in the area upon a complaint lodged by the victim, and handed over to the police. He was on the run when he was accosted by the villages.

The old lady told Class News’ regional correspondent Emmanuel Atukpa that the suspect, upon entering her room, claimed he was there to deliver GHc100 sent by her son. As the frail grandmother, who had been widowed for 40 years, pressed for further details, the suspect, overpowered her, covered her face with a cloth and had sex with her.

The old woman later reported the case to the police and was taken to the hospital. She complained of severe waist pains.

The suspect, on the other hand, according to Atukpa, pretended he was dead while in police custody, and, so, was taken to the hospital. But upon hearing the doctor recommend he be put into the morgue, he suddenly started breathing.

Exactly seven months after an armed gunman with a loaded gun was arrested during a Sunday church service in Accra plotting to assassinate President John Mahama, another man has been arrested for also plotting to assassinate the President at the Independence Square on Independence day, that is coming Sunday, March 6, 2016!

Kwame Gyebi, a resident of Dzowulu in Accra was arrested last Thursday, February 25, 2016 by the police upon a tip off after he was overheard confidently saying the President will drop dead while delivering his speech on March 6 this year at the Independence Square during the usual parade of school children to mark the 59th Independence Anniversary of Ghana.

The confidence and certainty with which he was making the declaration (that the President will drop dead on the said day) alarmed a patriotic citizen who tipped the police off culminating in Kwame Gyebi’s arrest. The police after initial investigations handed him over to the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI). He is currently in their custody.

An intelligence source told the DAILY POST the BNI is conducting further investigations into the matter to ascertain whether Kwame Gyebi has accomplices or is working alone.

Reader will recall that on July 26 last year, a 36 year-old man, Charles Antwi, was arrested during Sunday church service at the Ringway Gospel Centre of the Assemblies of God church with a loaded gun. The President was not in church that day.

The manner in which Antwi was fidgeting aroused the suspicion of the security detail of the Chief Justice who attends the same church. They accosted Charles Antwi, led him out of the church and searched him. A fully loaded locally manufactured pistol was retrieved from him. He confessed wanting to assassinate the President and said he had come to the church on previous occasion for that purpose.

Charles Antwi was later sentenced to a 10-year prison term by an Accra Circuit court presided over by Justice Francis Obiri. The sentence did not go down with the Attorney-General who appealed against it.

At a sitting of the Human Rights Division of an Accra High Court, the Acting Director of Public Prosecution, Yvonne Obuobisa, told the court that the BNI sent Charles Antwi to court to get him remanded for further investigations to be carried out only for him to be jailed ten years for illegal gun possession.

Following an appeal by Charles Antwi’s lawyer, Francis Xavier Sosu, an Accra High Court quashed the ruling of the Circuit Court and ordered Charles Antwi to be sent to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital for examination. The hospital later declared that the gun man was not of sound mind and has since then been treating him.

Abraham Attah was named best male lead at the 31st Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday.

The Beasts of No Nation actor, who is 15 years old, beat out fellow actors Ben Mendelsohn (Mississippi Grind
), Christopher Abbott (James White), Jason Segel (The End of the Tour
) and Koudous Seihon (Mediterranea) for the honor.

The smiling first-time performer thanked everyone from his fellow winner and costar Idris Elbato the Netflix film’s director, Cary Fukunaga, to the costume designers when he took the stage.

Earlier in the night, Elba brought the young actor up with him to share his best supporting male actor award. “I couldn’t have done it without you,” Elba told Attah. Attah played child soldier Agu in the African war drama, which was Netflix’s first original narrative film.

During the show’s opening monologue, co-hosts Kumail Nanjiani and Kate McKinnon joked about the roundup of this year’s films while mentioning Beast of No Nation, Room and Spotlight.

“This year’s nominees cover a wide variety of difficult subjects ranging from child abuse to even worse child abuse,” said Nanjiani. Jacob Tremblay, 9, of Room, was also in attendance as a presenter.

Jessica Chastain presented the award to Attah during the ceremony, which was held at the Santa Monica Pier and aired on IFC.

Attah wasn’t the only first-time performer to take home an award: Mya Taylor made history as the first transgender winner when the actress won best supporting female for Tangerine.

Serious tension is mounting between gospel musician, Isaiah Ampong and hi-life legend, Daddy Lumba, over album launch proceeds.

Lumba and Ampong in 2015 collaborated to come out with an album entitled ‘Hosanna’ calling themselves Kwadwo and  Kwadwo.

Checks by Adom FM’s Entertainment Hall indicate that the duo is not in good terms after the launch of the album.

Investigations have revealed that Daddy Lumba has not made things clear to Ampong after the album launch that happened in 2015. Ampong is also said to have received nothing from the launch and album sales proceeds.

It has also been revealed that about twenty thousand copies of CDs have so far been sold making the album very scarce on the market.

The cost of the album according to Adom FM is estimated to be GH¢31,000. Again, Lumba and his team were reported to have run away with the proceeds generated at the album launch held at the Glorious Waves International without making Ampong aware whiles Lumba did not contribute towards the launch.

Ampong according to our source is still not privy to the exact amount generated from the launch which could be over GH¢100,000.

It has also been established that since the launch, Lumba is said not to be responding to the latter’s call.

When the issue emerged, some key Men of God have tried solving it but Lumba is seemed not to be reasoning up. Due to this, one of the Pastors who donated GH¢10,000 during the launch of the ‘Hossana’ album launch is calling for the return of the money since he believes it has gone to the wrong hands.

Ampong who has not yet spoken on the matter is poised to ‘vomit’ out some secrets if Lumba does not give him his share.

Attempt made to contact Lumba’s camp proved futile since the manager did not pick his phone.
