My son is not a bastard, I decided not to marry his father - Mzbel tells critics

Songstress Mzbel has said that although she is not married to her baby’s father, it is inappropriate to refer to her son as a bastard.

According to her, the only reason she is not married to the father of her son is because she has decided not to.

Rumour had it that former CEO of UT-Holdings, Kofi Amoabeng was the father of Mzbel’s three-year-old son, Adepa. Although the pair was once in an amorous relationship, Mr Amoabeng has denied fathering the child.
In an interview with Delores Frimpong-Manso on her Delay Television show, Mzbel, real name, Nana Ekua Amoah corroborated Mr Amoabeng’s denial, saying, “I never said he was the father. I slept with Kofi Amoabeng a lot of times… [But] the fact that you had sex with Mr A doesn’t mean Mr A is the father of your child.”

Mzbel stressed that her son had a father and that “his father is always there. It’s just that we aren’t married…”

According to the 16 years hit maker, her reason for staying unmarried is because she doesn’t want to be anybody’s “slave”.

“I don’t want to be attached to anyone. I don’t want to be anybody’s slave. I want to have my freedom to do whatever I want due to my job. I never ever.”

“I’ve been in a relationship where due to my job there was always misunderstanding. Most men don’t understand,” she said.
