Okyeame Kwame |
The musician, popularly known as ‘Rap Dacta’ believes that one does not need to be a gospel artiste to do the work of God.
Okyeame Kwame, born Kwame Nsiah Apau, was reacting to hiplife artiste turned evangelist, Lord Kenya’s prophesy that he (Okyeame Kwame), Shatta Wale, Obour and D Cryme will be called to do God’s work very soon.
Lord Kenya, while speaking in an interview on Hitz @ 1 said, “This is a prophecy that the people I have mentioned and even couple more are on their way to coming to do the work of God.”
“Father God revealed it to me and I have said it and if God has a hand in it, surely it shall come to pass,” he stressed.
But Okyeame Kwame believes he is already doing God’s work.
He told Lexis Bill during an interview at the maiden edition of Joy @ The Mall at the West Hills Mall that, “I think I have always been a pastor.”
The 'Small Small' singer added, “Three years ago I met Lord Kenya at the airport and he asked me when I am going to give my life to Christ and I said ‘Chale’ you are welcome to Christ, we have been Christians for long.”
The Rap Dacta believes that you must not be a gospel artiste before you can do God’s work. No matter your profession, as long as you are able to impact on people’s lives positively then you are on the right track.
“I think that you must not sing a gospel song to be able to do God’s work. Everywhere I go or perform it comes with certain positivity and that one is God’s work,” he added.
