Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim is crying out to her fellow creative and everyone in the entertainment industry to reach out and support veteran actor Nii Odoi Mensah as he battles kidney failure.
The astute actor, who is also a former President of the Ghana Actors Guild, had kept his condition private for several months until his doctors declared both his kidneys incapable of performing their key functions.
Juliet Ibrahim who is helping gather some financial assistance for the actor told Starr Entertainment on the Starr Drive Wednesday afternoon that the veteran needs assistance.
"He has been going on with this thing for a while and he kept it to himself until recently when he realised that the cross was too much for him to carry so he reached out to Vivian Achor the current President of the Ghana Actors’ Guild and they both spoke to me about it and I decided to come on board.”
Juliet said although she was not able to raise a lot of money for the talented “role model”, she managed a donation from some GHC5000 raised from a charity event she held in Accra late last year.
“They were five in a group and I shared the money I raised among five of them that included Nii Odoi.”
She added, “he is a very strong man, that’s one thing I’m very proud of.”
